Don’t you just love the beach but hate how your skin looks and feels after?

I was talking to my good friend, hairstylist Marvin while waiting to do retouch for a wedding. We were swapping stories about our respective summer plans and I was lamenting on how much I loved the beach and loved the golden glow the sun gave but hated what it did to my skin. The whole year I strive to keep my skin in tip top shape and just a week of sun exposure I’m back right where I started.

Anyway, while Marvin and I chatted about sunblock he mentioned his derma friend offered him an oral version on the sunblock. We wasted no time and detoured straight to the derma doctors office. The decision was so not thought of that my driver kept looking for a hotel thinking we were still on the way to “retouch”.

Dr. Jason Waltenspeil prescribed the heliocare oral antioxidant to me. I’ve been taking 2 tablets 30mins before sun exposure and if I’m in the sun the whole day, I take another one 4 hours after. It contains antioxidants that eliminate free radicals that age skin. I’ve been taking this since the Holy Week break and have noticed that not as many freckles have come back to haunt me. And, the best thing is it protects from the inside and I feel even my toes are protected! Haha.

I wish it would replace the sunblock I need to use topically but I read that it’s not a sunscreen so i still use sunblock. Anyway, the best part of the visit to Marvin’s derma friend was him asking how old I was and when I told him the secret he couldn’t believe it. As a matter of fact, he asked Marvin again at a later time. I guess it has paid to take care of my skin.
